The parable of the Ten Talents in the Gospel of Matthew is a timeless story that opens our eyes to the boundless possibilities within us. It reminds us that every individual and community is endowed with sufficient resources to make a difference—though we often fail to recognize this truth.
In Matthew 25:14, Jesus shares: For it is as if a man, going on a journey, summoned his slaves and entrusted his property to them. The master in the parable does not treat his servants equally. He distributes his talents unequally—five, two, and one—based on their abilities. The first two servants work diligently, doubling their talents. But the third, out of fear and laziness, buries his single talent in the ground, failing to produce anything.
